Important Note on the Observatory Archives

The archives of Lowell Observatory contain the correspondence, working papers, manuscripts, and other records of many of the employees of the Observatory since its founding in 1894.  Usually, these records cover only the time in which the subject was in the employ of the Observatory, although in some cases we posess records which cover time periods before and after the person's tenure here.  Also, the library has quite a bit of material available which has not yet been sorted and indexed.  This material will be added to the list as it becomes available.

              All of the boxes used in the archive are from the Hollinger company.  The letter size boxes measure 12.25" x 5" x 10.25".  The legal size boxes measure 15.5" x 5 x 12.50".  The "clam-shell" boxes measure 20.25" x 15.5" x 3.5", and the microfilm boxes 3.75" x 3.75" x 1.625".  Records center cartons are 15" x 12.5" x 10".
