Lisa spent most of her career as a data analyst with the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. In an effort to shake things up a bit, she came to Lowell in 2011, as an NPOI observer, and she’s now also a competent DCT operator. With more than 30 years of technical and outreach experience, she brings a wide variety of skills to the observing team.

James maintains the grounds at the Anderson Mesa dark sky complex.

Jason carries out regular observations for the NPOI.

B.S., Computer Engineering, 1993, CSU Sacramento

After graduating from engineering school, Susan worked for Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies for many years. During this time, Susan rediscovered her passion for astronomy and education, eventually becoming the Outreach Director for the Sacramento Valley Astronomical Society. She worked with the Society of Women Engineers to encourage young women to pursue engineering, math, and the sciences as career opportunities.

Steve is the site engineer for Anderson Mesa.
