Visiting Observer Program

Lowell Observatory and Boston University are pleased to announce the availability of observing time for visitors on the 1.8-meter Perkins Telescope at Lowell's Anderson Mesa dark sky site near Flagstaff, Arizona. The telescope is presently equipped with PRISM, a CCD imager, polarimeter and spectrometer; and the Kron photoelectric photometer. In earlty 2006, two additional instruments are expected to be available for visitor use: Mimir, a wide-field infrared imager, polarimeter, and spectrometer; and the DeVeny Spectrograph. A total of 60 nights per year are being made available to visiting observers in recognition of recent NSF PREST grants to Lowell and BU in support of various improvements to the Perkins facility. November 1st for 1st Quarter: January-March
Feburary 1st for 2nd Quarter: April-June
May 1st for 3rd Quarter: July-September
August 1st for 4th Quarter: October-December
