The 1.8-meter (72-inch) Perkins Telescope
The 1.8-meter telescope is a shared facility with the department of
astronomy at
Boston University.
Prior to that the telescope was shared with Ohio State and Ohio Wesleyan
Universities. The telescope was moved to Arizona from Ohio in 1961. Time
on the telescope is scheduled by the Director of Lowell Observatory,
following guidelines set forth in the agreement between Lowell and Boston
University. The instrument is a Cassegrain reflector with properties
