We're open daily in December from noon until 5:00 PM MST, and Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM MST (we may close earlier in poor weather). Look here to see our year-round hours.

ex See Mars in 3D!

An exciting traveling exhibit, "A New Perspective on Mars," features stunning 3D images of Mars recorded by the European Space Agency's Mars Express mission. This fabulous exhibit will be on display at Lowell during both daytime and evening public hours through December 3.

Located just one mile west of historic downtown Flagstaff, Arizona, Lowell's scenic Mars Hill campus is the site of our 6500-square foot Steele Visitor Center. We offer daytime guided tours every hour from 10:00 AM through 4:00 PM, and tours, exhibits and telescope viewing in the evenings. Experience outstanding views of the heavens and wide-screen, cinematic multimedia shows. Come to Lowell and discover your Universe!

PRIVATE PROGRAMS AND TOURS

[Private nighttime viewing is not available June-August.]

Enjoy personalized programs and stargazing for groups of one to 60, with programs tailored to all ages! A one-hour daytime program is $70; a 90-minute evening program is $150. Programs must be booked three weeks or more in advance. Book your program online! Before you book, you can learn more about our programs here.

Geminid Meteor Shower

Indoor programs will focus on meteor showers such as the upcoming Geminids. Telescope viewing of various celestial objects is included in the evening’s activities.

Holiday Skies Program

Our 7 PM presentation discusses the mythology and science of the winter sky, including a discussion of the Star of Bethlehem. Telescope viewing and other indoor programs will also be available.
